William "Bill" Smith, 81, of Harrison, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, May 11th, 2024. He was born on June 9th, 1942, in Midland, the son of Roy and Corky (Miller) Smith. Bill graduated from Harrison High School and answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Army after being drafted.
In 1970, Bill married the love of his life, Connie. Throughout his career, Bill worked in the oil fields and on the pipeline, showcasing his dedication and hard work. He was a skilled builder, responsible for constructing his current homestead and the family cabin in the Upper Peninsula. Bill's craftsmanship extended to woodworking, a hobby he enjoyed and excelled at.
Bill enjoyed nature and embraced the outdoors. He cherished the changing seasons and found joy in making his own maple syrup. Bill's love for life and his surroundings was evident in everything he did.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Connie, his son Josh (Abby) Smith, and his three grandchildren: Connor, Lachlan, and Hagan. He is also remembered by several other extended family members and friends.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter: Angie, and four siblings: Larry, Barb, Kenny, and Connie.
