Vivian Potter, age 91, of Gladwin, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. She was born on January 18, 1935, the daughter of Edwin and Kathryn (Loveland) Cates, in Coalinga, CA. On October 11, 1956, Vivian married James Walsh, together they shared 43 years filled with cherished memories until he preceded her in death in 2000. Later, she met Donald Potter and they were married on March 31, 2001. The two shared 19 years together until he preceded her in death in 2020. Vivian was a Registered Nurse and was employed in the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Allen Park for many years until her retirement.
She is survived by her children: Michael (Eileen) Walsh of Beaverton and Kathy (John) Downs of San Pedro, CA; step-children: Steven (Mary) Potter of Cincinnati, OH, Carolyn (Robert) Rice of Dunkirk, OH, Donald (Katherine) Potter of Farmington Hills, Rebecca (Pat) McPherson of Stockbridge, Greg (Samantha) Potter of Kalkaska and Jon (Amy) Potter of Rochester, MN; 23 grandchilren; 34 great-grandchildren; sister: Sally Seeler of CA; along with several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands: James Walsh and Donald Potter; parents: Edwin and Kathryn; and siblings: Edwin, Ernest, JoAnne, and Joyce.
Funeral services will take place on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the time service.
