Vincent "Mike" Michael

Vincent “Mike” Michael, age 73, of Gladwin, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at home, surrounded by family after a four year battle with Cancer. He was born on August 21, 1952, the son of Francis E. and Dorothy L. (Rowden) Michael, in Pontiac, MI. Mike graduated from Pontiac Northern High School in 1971. He proudly served three years in the United States Navy on the USS Donald B. Beary, Destroyer Escort. He was employed 38 years, first at Fisher Body Plant in Pontiac and then transferred to Orion Assembly Plant in Lake Orion before his retirement on April 1, 2009.

Mike married the love of his life, Cathy Spillers, on April 25, 1992, in Gladwin. He learned to love hunting and fishing. He enjoyed camping with his family and in-laws at Little Brevort Lake in the U.P., they would spend a month there every summer for several years. Mike enjoyed quad riding, cutting wood, riding tractors with his grandson, Forest, and spending time at backyard bonfires.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 34 years: Cathy Michael; son: Joseph (Taylor) Michael of Clio, daughter: Alyssa “Aly” Michael of Gladwin, grandsons: Forest and Fletcher Michael of Clio; sister: Pauline (Ken) Miller of Myrtle Beach, SC; and brother-in-law: Harold “Harry” Spillers of Auburn.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Francis and Dorothy Michael; sisters: Sandra Michael and Frances Michael; father and mother-in-law: Harold “Dick” and Betty Spillers; and sister-in-law: Arlene Spillers.
