Thomas Matteson

Thomas C. Matteson, 86, of Gladwin, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on May 27, 1935, the son of Larry and Gladys "Honey" Matteson in Alpena. On August 24, 1957, he was united in marriage to his true love Jacqueline Millsom in Saginaw. Together they were blessed with 64 wonderful years of marriage. He retired as a teacher from Beaverton Rural Schools, and also worked for Kraft Foods making cheese, sold real estate for Coldwell Banker, bartended for Cedar Bar, and member of Gladwin City Council and Planning Commission. His greatest accomplishment was his family, being husband, dad, grandpa, and great grandpa.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife: Jacqueline Matteson of Gladwin; son: Michael Matteson of West Branch; daughter: Terri (Michael) Stephens of Whitehall; grandchildren: Trisha (Brandon), Jennifer (Pam), Zachary, Simon, Gabriel, and Shawn (Kandis); 9 great grandchildren; along with his brother: Richard (Barb) Matteson.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place and celebration of life will take place at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made according to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. www.hall-kokotovichfuneralhome.com
