Thomas Haney Jr.

Thomas M. Haney Jr., age 71, of Gladwin, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026. He was born on May 28, 1955, the son of Thomas M. and June (Crain) Haney Sr., in Washington D.C. Thomas was employed with General Motors for 30 years until his retirement. He loved going to church and was active in his community at Secord Baptist Church. He loved fishing and hunting, especially bear, raccoon, and squirrel. He enjoyed playing guitar and gardening. He had a deep love for Horses, often taking his children, Kelly and Jeff, on horse camping trips. Most of all, Thomas, loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, he loved being a grandpa.

He is survived by his children: Thomas “Tommy” Haney III, Kelly (Brock) Gray, and Jeffrey (Alexis) Haney; grandchildren: Carson Haney, Faith Gray, Logan Gray, and Brady Gray; mother: June Weaver; brother: Randy (Carol) Haney; along with several nieces and nephews and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his father: Thomas M. Haney Sr.; step-father: Gerald ‘Whitey” Weaver; brothers: Robert and Dwayne Haney; and grandson: Thomas Haney IV “TJ.”

Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 11, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, in Gladwin. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. He will be laid to rest at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Secord Baptist Church.
