Susan Clark

Susan Jane Clark, age 79, of McKinney, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 6, 2026, leaving a legacy of love, care, and unwavering faith.

Susan was born on Nov. 21, 1946, in Westbrook, Maine, to the late Frank Walter Nelson and Miriam Violet Case. In 1975, she married the love of her life, Larry Scott Clark, in Phoenix, Arizona. After spending several wonderful years in Phoenix, they moved to Littleton, Colorado, where they stayed and created a beautiful life raising their two children. Once the kids had grown, Susan and Larry built their dream cabin in Beaverton, Michigan. They eventually moved to Texas to be closer to family, but after deciding the climate was just way too hot, they happily returned home to settle back in Beaverton.

A devout follower of Jesus Christ, Susan’s faith guided every aspect of her life. She dedicated her professional career to caring for others as a compassionate nurse practitioner, embodying a spirit of true service. Over her decades in nursing, she worked for a private physician and several hospitals before ultimately settling in at Metro State College, where she spent the rewarding final years of her career in the student health center. Her commitment to her faith also extended deeply into her community as a long-time, faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Beaverton, Michigan. Susan is now resting at home in perfect peace, safe in the arms of her Lord. She is joyfully reunited with her beloved Larry, as well as her cherished dogs, Rusty and Mugs, who were always a deeply important and treasured part of life for both Susan and Larry.

An artist at heart, Susan had a profound passion for the arts and was a remarkably talented painter. She took great pride in her community’s creative circle as an active member of the Gladwin Area Artist Guild in Michigan. Susan found immense joy in life’s simple pleasures – whether she was fishing alongside Larry, savoring fresh lobster that reminded her of her New England roots, or exploring and admiring coastal lighthouses, becoming a true connoisseur over the years. She will be remembered forever for her kind heart, creative spirit, and the deep love she shared with those around her.

She is survived by her loving children: Jennifer Moore and her husband Kameron of Melissa, Texas; and Logan Clark and his wife, Lauren of Payson, Utah. She was the cherished grandmother to Kara Moore, Kamden Moore, Kayla Shepherd-Clark; and her husband, Seth, and Landon Clark; and the adoring great-grandmother to Jasper and Oliver. Susan is also survived by her faithful pit bull, Rosie, who is currently living out the rest of her life surrounded by love in Utah with Logan and his family. She also leaves behind a host of other loving family members and dear friends.

Susan was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her cherished husband, Larry Scott Clark; her dear brother, Peter Nelson; and her faithful companions, Rusty and Mugs.

A memorial service celebrating Susan’s beautiful life and faith will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19, 1 p.m., at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Beaverton, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, donations for the Gladwin Area Artist Guild will be accepted by the funeral home.
