Solomon “Sol” Horn, 89, of Beaverton, Michigan passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, February 7, 2026. He was born on May 26, 1936, the son of Clifford and Doris (McKimmy) Horn in Beaverton. On March 31, 1956, he was united in marriage to his true love, Berniece Blades, in Beaverton. Together they cherished 64 wonderful years of marriage, until she preceded him in death in 2020.
Sol graduated from Beaverton High School in 1954. He went on to work for 36 years at General Motors in Grand Blanc, retiring as a supervisor in 1991. He enjoyed hunting, antique machinery, motorcycles, and spending time with his family. While living in Lennon, he volunteered as a Fireman and on the Village Council before returning to his family homestead in Beaverton.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Dana Horn of Corunna, Terry Horn of Corunna, Chris (Dorothy) Horn of Florence, Arizona, and Sheila Horn of Beaverton, grandchildren: Natalie, Trenton, Autumn, Nathaniel, Garrett, step-grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and siblings: Jacqueline and James (Linda).
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Berniece, children: Darryl, Cynthia, and Susan, grandchild: Brody, and brother-in-law: Vance Southwell.
Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Tobacco Township Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
