Selma Jenkinson

Selma Grace (Makinen) Jenkinson, 97, of Gladwin went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 11, 2018. She was born January 7, 1921 to Oscar & Hazel (Proper) Makinen. On April 7, 1941 she married Maurice Cecil Jenkinson. They resided in the Pontiac and Waterford are until moving to Gladwin in 1990. Selma was a homemaker for many years before working for Montgomery Wards in Pontiac. She was residing at the Horizon Senior Living Center V in Gladwin at the time of her death.

Selma is survived by her sons: Bob Jenkinson and Don (Tami) Jenkinson, of Gladwin; grandson: Michael (Suzanne) Jenkinson of Gladwin and Matthew (Lisa Kish) of Fenton. Also surviving are 9 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren: Stephanie (Don) Dutcher and daughters Josephine, Carolyn and Keelie of Mt. Pleasant; Brittany (Kyle) Yenor of Ann Arbor; Andrea (Hugh) Jenkins and children Landon, Isabella and Abigail of Gladwin; Andrew (Emily) Jenkinson and children Tristan and Elayna of Wyoming, MI; Cassandra Jenkinson of Gladwin; Michelle (Bradley) Strunk of Gladwin, Deanna and Brenden Jenkinson of Linden, and Maddison Jenkinson of Fenton.

Selma was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Hazel Makinen; husband Maurice Jenkinson; son Richard Jenkinson; and granddaughter Melinda Jenkinson.

Services will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018, 10:30 A.M. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3089 Pratt Lake Road, Gladwin, Michigan 48624. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will be at Crescent Hills Cemetery, Waterford.
