Sandra DeVenny, age 81, of Gladwin, formerly of Beaverton, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. She was born on July 24, 1944, the daughter of James and Rosie (Sites) Pleasants, in Gladwin. On August 1, 1964, Sandra married the love of her life, Richard DeVenny. Together they shared many years of love and cherished memories until he preceded her in death in 2023. Sandra worked as a hairdresser for many years until her retirement. After Richard’s retirement in 2004, the two of them moved to Texas, where they lived for 16 years until moving back up to Gladwin in 2020.
Sandra enjoyed traveling, crafting, and working in her garden. She enjoyed golfing and playing cards and other board games. An active member of the community, Sandra was a 4-H Leader as well as a Girl Scout Leader.
She is survived by her daughter: Patty (Martin) Vondrasek; grandchildren: Jacob (Ashley) Vondrasek, Deven Minke, and Drew Minke; 3 great-grandchildren: Ruston, Harland, and Goldie; brother: Jim (Marilyn) Pleasants; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Tehea Minke.
