Russell Mathis

Russell Mathis, age 65, of Gladwin, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. He was born on May 22, 1959, the son of Willie and Maryanne (Mercier) Mathis, in Savannah, GA. Russell was employed as a Quality Engineer for many years. On March 11, 2000, he married Lori Bacheller, and together they shared 25 years filled with love and cherished memories. Russell had a deep love for motorcycles. He enjoyed spending his free time at the Gladwin Eagles 3292 and fishing.

He is survived by his wife: Lori Mathis; children: Josh (Emily) Mathis, Blake (Amanda) Weirmier, Ethan (Nicole) Weirmier and Ezekiel (Jaime) Mathis; grandson: Austin Weirmier; siblings: Bob (Jeanine) Mathis and Pam Mathis; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Sandy, Ron, and Linda.

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Gladwin.
