Ronald G. Whitmer, age 76, of Beaverton, passed away unexpectedly, on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, along with his brother: Chris “Stanley” Whitmer; and nephew: Chris “L.C.” Whitmer II. He was born on January 9, 1950, the son of Robert Whitmer and Juanita Whitehouse, in Midland. He married the love of his life, Donna Berthume, and together they shared 41 years of love and cherished memories. Ronald was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Following his service, he worked at Dow Chemical, until his retirement over 20 years ago.

Ron loved hunting and always looked forward to Maple Valley deer camp each Fall. He also loved fishing, especially the annual Taquamenon trip in the Spring with his good buddies and family. Ron always enjoyed lending a “guiding” hand on projects with all of his kids, soliciting the best advice. He looked forward to the family reunion and tinkering around the house with his many “treasures.” Ron had a witty sense of humor and was always cracking jokes. He loved to relax on the back porch, watching over his field, and binge his favorite TV shows.

He is survived by his beloved wife: Donna; children: Deana Whitmer, Joe (Jill) Whitmer, Josh (Sarah) Whitmer, Jackie (Jeremy) Dull, and Jake (Jackie) Whitmer; grandchildren: LJ Schulz, Gage Schulz, Chance Schulz, Austin (Brenna) Dings, Zach Whitmer, Jordan Robinson, Jillian Whitmer, and Lainey Whitmer; great-grandchildren: Ava Schulz, Rhyan Jehnsen, and Jameson French; brother: Dennis (Alice) Whitmer; sister: Joanne (Kendall) Rees; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert Whitmer and Juanita (Joe) Simon.

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life is being planned for a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
