Ronald Garver Jr.

Ronald Lee Garver Jr., age 66, of Gladwin, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. He was born on September 8, 1959, the son of Ronald L. and Gail (Winans) Garver Sr., in Lansing. In 1979, Ronald entered a relationship with the love of his life, Vera Searfoss. They were married on September 11, 1982, and shared 43 years filled with love and cherished memories. Ronald grew up in Gladwin, throughout his life and traveled and lived across the United States until he settled down back in Gladwin 25 years ago.

Ronald was a hard worker and jack of all trades. He worked in logging and building for some time. He even ended up working in a nursing home for a few years. He loved getting the opportunity to help those around him.

He was a true outdoorsman, spending his free time fishing, hunting, and traveling. Ronald loved his horses and his little dogs. Most of all, Ronald loved his family, cherishing the moments spent with them.

He is survived by his son: Tylor (Ashley) Garver; grandchildren: Ashton, Tylor, and Rebekah Garver; step-son: Kevin Searfoss; step-grandchildren: Matthew and Ryan Searfoss and Jacob Smelser; sisters: Kelly (Sam) Whitfield and Renee Garver-Hukins; brother-in-law: Walter (Ruth) Searfoss, Nick Searfoss, and Otto (Linda) Searfoss; and sister-in-law: Angela Smith; along with several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Lee Garver.

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at Gladwin Free Methodist Church officiated by Pastor Tom O’Connor. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
