Randy Grimes

November 20, 1956 — August 13, 2025

Randy David Grimes, age 68, of Gladwin, passed away August 13, 2025 surrounded by family and friends. He was born on November 20, 1956, the son of Frank and Kathleen (Ross) Grimes. Randy was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving his country with pride.

Married for forty years, Randy and his beloved wife, Lee, built their life on the solid foundation of faith, love, and understanding—a bond that carried them through every chapter. His faith in God guided his steps and shaped his heart. He loved the stillness of the woods, the tug of a line in the water, and the quiet joy of being outdoors. But above all, he loved his family. Being a grandpa was his greatest pride, and his love for his grandchildren ran deep. With a quick wit and a wise word always ready, Randy was someone people leaned on. He believed in the power of gathering—especially around a table with good food, where memories could be made and love was shared in the simplest of ways.

He is survived by his wife: Lee Grimes; daughters: Sarah Foster (Chris McLeish) and Anna (Kyle) Middleton; grandchildren: Alexandria Hayward, Elijah Fitzpatrick, Adam Hillier, Collin Foster, Owen Foster, Monroe Middleton, and one on the way; siblings: Gary (Judy) Grimes, Sandra (Dale) Krahner, Marlene (Roger) Haines, Cheryl (Darrel) Perkins, Linda Schilling and Bob Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Kathleen; daughter: Angela Grimes; brother: Frank Grimes; and son-in-law: Dale Foster Jr.

To Randy, family wasn’t defined by blood but by the love that binds us together-a love that transcends time and endures beyond this life. He leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family who may go unnamed but are cherished deeply and held close to his heart.

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place promptly at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 13 at the Sage Township Hall, followed directly by lunch. Please come ready to share a memory, a story, or simply your presence — if Randy made a difference in your life, your voice is part of his story.
