Patricia "Patty" Anderson

Patricia “Patty” Anderson, age 75, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away on August 30, 2026.

Patty was born on April 20, 1951, in Midland, Michigan, the daughter of Lloyd and Gail Anderson. She made Gladwin her home for the past 40 years, where she became a much-loved part of the Smith Adult Foster Care Home family.

For more than three decades, Patty took pride in working and being part of her community. From 1986 until her retirement in 2020, she worked at Beavercraft, Gladwin County Industries and the Arnold Center. Her years of work provided her with many friendships, experiences and memories along the way.

Patty had a wonderful sense of humor and loved making those around her laugh. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, working on search-a-word books, looking through magazines and watching her favorite television shows. She especially enjoyed outings and spending time with her friends at Smith Adult Foster Care Home. Over the years, many friendships were made and countless memories and laughs were shared.

Patty is survived by her siblings, Janet Woodruff of Sanford, Walter (Carol) Anderson of Nevada, and Gail Mueller of Midland; along with many nieces and nephews. She will also be deeply missed by LaVel Smith and Shannon (Jake) Dorn, who were an important part of her life for 40 years, as well as her friends and extended family at Smith Adult Foster Care Home.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Gail Anderson; her brother, Ed Anderson and his wife, Janice; her brothers-in-law, Woody Woodruff and Tony Mueller; and Bill Smith, who was a special part of Patty’s life for many years.

After 40 years, Patty was far more than a resident of Smith Adult Foster Care Home, she was family. Her humor, her familiar presence and the laughter she brought into the home will leave an empty space that will not easily be filled. She will be remembered with love, laughter and many fond memories by all who knew her.
