Norma Johnson, age 86, of Beaverton, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026. She was born on May 19, 1939, the daughter of Arthur and Mae (Bardwell) Fruchey, in Beaverton. On August 10, 1957, she married the love of her life, Roger Johnson. Together, they shared 68 years filled with love and cherished memories.

Norma worked as a librarian at Garber's Bush Elementary School in Essexville, Michigan for many years until her retirement. She had a deep love for gardening and was a founding member of the Beaverton Garden Club. She was also active in in the First Presbyterian Church, Bay City and, later First Presbyterian Church, Beaverton.

She is survived by her beloved husband: Roger; daughters: Charlene (Kerry) Arnett, Veronica (Jerry) Warmerdam, and Stephnie (Jay) Thornton; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother: Wayne Fruchey.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Horizon Senior Living staff and residents and to Compassus Hospice for the care and compassion they showed to Norma.

Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Compassus Hospice 3217 West M-55, Suite B West Branch, MI 48661 in honor of Norma.
