2 Corinthians 5:8 "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
Michael H. Leuenberger, age 64, of Beaverton, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025. He was born on January 20, 1961, the son of Herman and Joan (Ulrich) Leuenberger, in Gladwin. He married the love of his life, Gail Krompetz, and together they shared 36 years filled with love and cherished memories.
Mike was a quiet man that lived a quiet life; loving his wife, family, friends and his misbehaved dog, Chester. Upon retiring in 2016 from a lifetime of farming he and his wife moved to Montana where he had more time to enjoy his passions of hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. After moving there they found "Cowboy Church" on a ranch in the Paradise Valley and spent half the day there every Sunday. Most of all, Mike loved his family, cherishing the time spent with them. He particularly enjoyed many adventures with his Granddaughter, Rebekah, who he held close to his heart.
He is survived by his beloved wife: Gail; daughter: Brooke (Travis) Smith; granddaughter: Rebekah Smith; parents: Herman and Joan; brothers: Mark (Sandy) Leuenberger and Todd (Connie) Leuenberger; in-laws: Walt (Dee Dee) Krompetz and Duch Krompetz and her friend Bill; brother-in-law: Ed (Susan) Krompetz; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his son: Canvas Watson and brother-in-law: Rod Krompetz.
Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place and services are being planned for a later date. Memorial contributions can be made in Mike’s honor to Optimal Care Hospice in Saginaw at 4760 Fashion Square Blvd Suite L1, Saginaw, MI 48604. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
