She leaves behind many friends who loved her as well.

Megan would start this by saying, “It’s me, Megan”, and if you were close to her, you can still hear her saying that in your head. If you got the opportunity to know Megan, you would know that, although she battled the many dimensions of addiction, she was resilient and was tenacious about finding the joy in life while finding her true self. Her energy was quirky and funny-so so funny, and if you were lucky enough to be identified as someone maybe as weird as she saw herself, you made a fast friend in Megan. She had a way of being in this world that was engaging and loving. She believed everyone deserves love. It would never matter what someone looked like, or how they were trying to survive in this world; she went out of her way to connect. She saw the light in souls that she couldn’t always see in herself, and would ensure that you knew if she saw light in you.
Megan was a force of nature, and she often found herself immersed in whatever nature she could find, where she found moments of peace and reflection. At times you could see her childlike ways of taking in the world and her playful and humorous nature. There were many parts to Megan which afforded her the innate ability to connect with such a wide range of people. It would be remiss to not acknowledge the pain that she carried, as this is what made her the unique soul that she was. Megan knew one thing for certain in this life, that her pain shaped her to be the person she was each day. The ways in which she balanced her pain with her love for people was admirable. She likely wouldn’t have described herself as lighting up a room, but she always made sure a room wasn’t lonely. Megan would want everyone to know they matter, and not to give up. Each day is a new day that we can begin again, and while she isn’t here in this physical world with us anymore, she is now free to be able to watch over us all, and challenge us all to embrace ourselves, appreciate nature, and laugh as much as we can.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, 2:00 P.M. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, MI. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com.
