Margaret (Hager) Denton

October 15, 1928 — September 25, 2021

Margaret Ann Hager, 92, of Gladwin, passed away on September 25 at home. The angels came down and took our sweet Mama to heaven. Maggie was the third oldest of the eleven children of Byron and Gertrude Hager.  She was preceded in death by her parents, several siblings – Catherine, Rita, Byron and Jack, her husband Doug Denton and her dear friend Martin O’Connor. She grew up in Gladwin, played in the high school band and graduated from Gladwin High School in 1947.  She was the proud mother of seven children – Jean and Ernie Burgess, Barbara and Ray Royea, Jim Norman, Janet Stone, Chuck and Kathy Norman, John Norman and Mary Girardot – 29 grandchildren and more great grandchildren than we had time to count.  When she was finished raising her family, Maggie went back to school, earning two associates degrees from Mid-Midland Community College.  She enjoyed working in the office at the college but her big passion was crocheting – everyone in the family needed to have at least one afghan and the family kept growing so she could never be finished with that job.  Before macular degeneration took her eyesight, she also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles.  Her quick wit and great smile will be missed by all who knew her.

Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gladwin. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 5-7:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. Inurnment will be held at Hamilton Twp. Cemetery. www.hall-kokotovichfuneralhome.com
