Lloyd Bowen

March 19, 1935 — May 26, 2022

Lloyd R. Bowen, 87, of Gladwin, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family and Pastor. He was born on March 19, 1935, the son of Ray and Ivalou (Rhinehart) Bowen in Detroit.  Lloyd graduated from Harrison High School in the class of 1954. On March 6, 1954, he was united in marriage to Jean Weldon in Clare. They recently celebrated being married for 68 years together. He worked for the Gladwin Sheriff Department and Brown Machine before owning and operating Gladwin Metal Processing from 1972-2022. Lloyd also was a member of the Michigan National Guard. His hobbies included being a Licensed Ham Radio Operator and also restoring antique cars. Lloyd was also a member of the Gladwin Camping Club and also associated with the Gladwin Free Methodist Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife: Jean Bowen; children: Clifford (Angie) Bowen, Denise (Mike) McCulloch, Phyllis (Chuck) Jacobson, Carol (Marty) Govitz, and Judy (Kirk) Cameron; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents: Ray and Ivalou Bowen and his sister: Beatrice Young.

Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Phil Hortop on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, 11:00 A.M. at the Gladwin Free Methodist Church. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from 3-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin and on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. He will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery, Gladwin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made according to the Gladwin Free Methodist Church. www.hall-kokotovichfuneralhome.com
