Laurie James

Laurie A. James, age 70, of Wayland, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024. She was born on March 23, 1954, the daughter of Clair "Larry" Kellogg and Shirley Gilmore, in Saginaw. Laurie was employed as a Teacher's Aide at Beaverton Schools for over 20 years, until her retirement in 2015. Laurie was an avid crafter who found joy in a variety of different crafts. She loved sewing, scrapbooking, crocheting, and knitting. 

She is survived by her children: Lisa (Joseph) Martinez, Jason (Jennifer) Harris, Michael (Becca) James, Rebecca (Kevin) Rahn, and Robert James; grandchildren: James and Janelle Harris, Olivia and Ryan Martinez, Alli James, and Dylan and Elloise Rahn; 1 brother and sister: Joy (Wayne) Foster; along with several other family members she loved dearly. 

She is preceded in death by her parents and aunts and uncles. 

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024 from 2:00-6:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Beaverton Elementary School. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
