Julia Lier

Julia M. Lier, age 81, of Gladwin, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026. She was born on December 5, 1944, in Manton, MI. In 1969, Julia married the love of her life, Pete Lier, in Muskegon, MI. Together, they shared 52 years filled with love and cherished memories until he preceded her in death in 2023. Julia was awarded a Master’s Degree in Education from Central Michigan University. She taught 4th grade at Gladwin Community Schools for many years until her retirement. Julia was actively involved in quilting clubs and enjoyed getting together with her group to play Mahjong.

She is survived by her step-children: Dan Lier and Heidi Brown; and grandchildren: Zoë, Daniel, Brittany, and Donald.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Pete; parents; and siblings: Lydia Moore and Rob Moore.

Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services planned at this time. She will be laid to rest at Liberty Township Cemetery in Manton, MI. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
