Joyce Russell

Joyce Russell, age 93, of Beaverton, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026. She was born on July 15, 1932, the daughter of John and Carmen (Williams) Densmore, in Clare County. In 1950, she married the love of her life, Donald Russell. Together, they shared 49 years of love and cherished memories until he preceded her in death in 1999. Joyce worked as a Bus Driver and Custodian at Beaverton Rural Schools for several years until her retirement. Joyce enjoyed sewing and was an active member of the Beaverton Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children: Debra (Clinton) Barber, Gerdon (Susan) Russell, Nietta (Michael) Trapp; grandchildren: Cheryl, Daryl (Amanda), Clinton (Liz), David, Bradley (Adrienne), Bryan, Keven (Samantha), and Jeffrey (Jasmine); 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and sisters: Janice Bennett and Ivora (James) Miller.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband: Donald; parents: John and Carmen; granddaughter: Amanda Russell; grandson: Dan Vogel; brothers: Jules Densmore and Jerome Densmore.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at the Beaverton Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M.until the time of service. Visitation will also be held on Monday, April 20, 2026 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, in Beaverton. She will be laid to rest at Beaverton City Cemetery.
