John William McLaren, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, peacefully entered eternal rest on November 8, 2023, at the age of 80. He was born on May 25, 1943, in Midland, Michigan, to the late John McLaren and Eunice Payne.
John was a man of great character and integrity, deeply devoted to his family. He leaves behind his loving wife, Judy Ann McLaren, and his children, Mark John McLaren and Amy Jo Angilau. John was a source of unwavering love and guidance to his grandchildren, Connor James McLaren, Katherine Ann McLaren, Glorya Genoa Angilau, Tonga John Angilau, Carter Tuhulu Angilau, and Maya Lupe Ann Angilau. He is also survived by his brothers, James Louis, Dan R, William John, and his sisters, Cheryl Lea and Pamela Sue. He was preceded in death by his father, John McLaren, mother, Eunice Payne, and sister, Carol Ann.
John's life was marked by remarkable achievements and dedication to his profession. After graduating from Beaverton High School, he pursued higher education at Central Michigan University. He embarked on a distinguished career as a mechanical engineer at Dow Chemical, where he contributed his expertise and passion for innovation. Throughout his career, John's ingenuity shone brightly, resulting in the awarding of 15 patents under his name.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, John found solace in his hobbies and faith. He had a deep appreciation for Model T cars, immersing himself in their history and intricacies. His enthusiasm for these classic vehicles brought him boundless joy and countless memorable moments. John was also a faithful member of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints, finding strength and comfort in his spiritual beliefs.
Friends and family are invited to join in honoring John's life at the Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home located at 430 South Ross Street, Beaverton, MI. Funeral Services for John will be conducted on Saturday, November 18, 2023, 2:00 P.M. The family will be receiving guests starting at 12 noon until the time of the service. Private graveside services will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the McLaren family kindly requests that donations be made to a charitable organization of your choice, reflecting the causes close to John's heart.
