Jerry Wells

Jerry Wells, age 86, of Beaverton, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. He was born on March 23, 1940, the son of Floyd and Lena (Jones) Wells, in Grand Ledge, MI. Jerry married Beaula McFarland. Together, they had 4 children and shared several years until she preceded him in death in 1982.

Jerry was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Following his service, he moved to Gladwin in 1985. In 1989, he married Karen Peckens. Together, they shared 37 years filled with love and cherished memories.

When Jerry moved to Gladwin, he became Gladwin’s First Electrical Inspector. He served as a Pastor at Gladwin Church of the Nazarene. Jerry enjoyed taking care of the lawn “his way,” which was something he took a lot of pride in. He loved fishing, going to sporting events to cheer on his grandchildren, and visiting with church members.

He is survived by his wife: Karen; daughter: Rhonda Wheeler, her son Zachary; son: Michael (Jane) Wells, his children Christopher and Jacob; daughter: Michelle Mann, her children Bruce (Olivia) and Megan (Ethan); son Kevin (Jennie) Wells, his children Olivia and Ava, his step-children Allie and April; step-son: Andrew (Jessie), his children Jonah, Sam, Nora, Ezrah; step-daughter: Trisha (Dave), her children Kylee and Saxton.

He is preceded in death by his first wife: Beaula Wells, parents, and 9 siblings.

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Beaverton Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Benevolence Fund, in honor of Jerry.
