Jean A. Schaefer, 87, of Gladwin, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at The Brook of Gladwin. She was born on January 3, 1935, the daughter of Francis and Adele Knivel in Detroit. On August 6, 1955, she was united in marriage to Garath Schaefer. They moved to Gladwin in 1987, previously residing in Warren. She worked in sales for Bally of Switzerland. Jean was a faithful member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Gladwin. Jean loved living on the lake in Sugar Springs, swimming at the clubhouse pool, riding on her pontton, Red Hats, and Gatabouts trips. She loved playing cards, singing, swimming, and boating.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Mark Schaefer of Gladwin, Kathy (John) Brodie) of Clinton Twp., and David (Kristina) Schaefer of Waterford; along with her grandchildren: Brittney, Garath, Jessica, Alex, and Patrick. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister: Marilyn Tillman.

Funeral Services we held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, 11:00 A.M. at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Gladwin. She will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Memorial contributions may be made according to Christ the King Lutheran Church or Hospice Compassus.
