Harold Day, age 74, of Gladwin, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025. He was born on November 22, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, to Harold and Norma Day. He was a resident of Macomb County until he moved to Gladwin in 2022.
Harold worked at Ford Motors Company starting out as a truck driver and then moving into the plant. Known for his love of conversation, Harold could strike up a chat with anyone, anywhere, about anything. He enjoyed being out on the water driving his boat, riding his side-by-side, and sharing laughs as a prankster who always aimed to brighten someone’s day.
Harold’s greatest joy was helping others. No matter who you were, he was always ready to lend a hand. He also loved spending time with his family and pets, playing games, especially steak cards, and taking vacations with his beloved wife, Becky.
Harold is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Day; sister, Madeleine (Gerard) Taube; nephews, Jakob (Sarah) Taube; nieces, Kassy (Terry) Davinney and Grace (Brett) Burg; and great-nieces and nephews, Sophia, Matilda, Logan, Stathem, Wade, Briar, and Arya.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Norma Day.
Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Shepherd's Gate Church in Shelby Township, MI. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. A memorial luncheon will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Secord Lake Eagles Aerie 4121 in Gladwin, MI.
