Harold Broka

Harold “Dean” Broka, age 80, of Beaverton, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. He was born on April 20, 1945, the son of Harold and Angeline “Orrine” (Wager) Broka, in Gladwin. On January 18, 1969, he married the love of his life, Sandra McPherson. Together they shared 57 years filled with love and cherished memories.

Harold was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam in the Combat Infantry and was awarded a Purple Heart for his service. Following his service, he worked at Brown Machine for over 30 years until his retirement. Harold loved fishing and sports, especially football and basketball. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, and hunting. He was also an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Edenville.

He is survived by his beloved wife: Sandra; children: Troy (Wendy) Broka and Kristy (Matt) Fruchey; grandchildren: Ava and Jackson; brother: Bill (Marge) Broka; special niece: Kim Schroeder; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Harold (Orrine) Broka; in-laws: Clare (Grace) McPherson; and brothers: David Broka and Mick Broka.

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 1:00- 5:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Beaverton. Military Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
