Frank Rhody

August 25, 1941 — December 14, 2025

Frank Covert Rhody, age 84, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 25, 1941, to Frank and Virginia (Peplin) Rhody, Frank lived a life marked by service, innovation, and joy.

Frank proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as part of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit during the Vietnam War. His courage and dedication in the face of danger exemplified the strength of his character. After returning home, he built a successful career, first as a manager at Farmer Jack, and later as a packaging engineer with Detroit Plastics, Tacom, and Webasto. He retired at the remarkable age of 78, leaving behind a legacy of hard work.

A true enthusiast of technology, Frank was always excited to acquire the latest gadgets. He delighted in sharing his discoveries with family and friends, always eager to explore what was new. Beyond his love of technology, he was an avid collector of coins and stamps, a hobby that reflected his appreciation for history. Frank also found freedom and enjoyment on the open road, riding motorcycles whenever he could. His lifelong fascination with explosives was evident in the Fourth of July fireworks display he orchestrated each year, a tradition that delighted all who gathered.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Majewski, and his children: Kim Pierce, Frank (Terry) Rhody, Lisa (Jim) O’Connor, Jason (Lisa) Rhody, Lynn (Frank) Nikollaj, and Bobby Majewski. He was grandfather to Cody, Mackenzie, Brendan, Mitchell, Adelina, Mark, Lucas, and Madeline, and a loving brother to Sally (Neil) Soper. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Linda Burton, and his grandson Kyle Rhody.

A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at a later date, where stories will be shared, laughter will echo, and you can have dessert first if you want!
