Clarence R. Herman, age 91, of Gladwin, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. He was born on February 4, 1935, the son of Cleva and Blanche (Strait) Herman, in Evart. On August 11, 1958, he married Marquita Keet. Together, they had 4 children and shared 42 years of love and memories until she preceded him in death in 2000. On July 12, 2003, he married Kathryn Benzing, and together they shared 23 years filled with love and cherished memories.

Clarence was a member of the Naval Reserve from 1953-1961. He worked as a Supervisor in the Fire Division for the Department of Natural Resources for 36 years, until his retirement in 1995. He was an active member of the Gladwin Fraternal Order of Eagles 3292 and enjoyed spending his time there. He had a passion for Classic Cars, even owning a few of his own.

He is survived by his wife: Kathryn Herman; children: Venita (Mark) Larson and Jolita Aeschliman; grandchildren: Savannah Hollingworth, Eligh Larson, Chelsey Fanslow, Nikyda Lake, Shane Aeschliman, and Joshua; great-grandchildren: Damian, Sloane, Tallulah, Brayson, and Jade.

He was preceded in death by his first wife: Marquita; children: Dale Herman and Barbara Sinn; grandson: Jon Choss; brother: Harley; and parents: Cleva and Blanche.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Christian Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Visitation will also be held on Monday, August 3, 2026 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin. He will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery.
