Chris “Stanley” Whitmer

Chris “Stanley” Whitmer I, age 71, of Beaverton, passed away unexpectedly, on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, along with his son: Chris “L.C.” Whitmer II and brother: Ronald G. Whitmer. He was born on June 18, 1954, the son of Robert Whitmer and Juanita Whitehouse in Midland, MI. Stanley was a proud member of the United States Navy. Following his service, he worked at Dow Chemical for many years until his retirement. 

Stanley was a true outdoorsman; often spending his free time hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved to cook. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, cherishing the moments he spent with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and brothers. 

He is survived by his children: Dennis (Melissa) Whitmer and Adam (Melissa Olney) Whitmer; daughter-in-law: Tasia Whitmer; grandchildren: Justin, Coey (Allie), Brent, and Cole; great-grandchildren: Claire, Clay, and Cami; brother: Dennis (Alice) Whitmer; sister: Joanne (Kendall) Rees; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert Whitmer and Juanita (Joe) Simon. 

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life is being planned for a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
