Carol Wasmuth

Carol Wasmuth, age 83, of Coleman, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. She was born on August 18, 1942, the daughter of Lester and Mina (Ferris) Yaxley in Midland. On August 13, 1960, Carol married Richard Walters Sr. Together, they shared many years of love and cherished memories until he preceded her in death in 1972. After the death of her husband, Carol remarried. On June 14, 1996, she married Ronald Wasmuth and together they shared many years of love and memories until he preceded her in death in 1999. 

Carol has many passions in her life. She loved playing cards and bingo, watching game shows, and completing word searches. She enjoyed crafting, collecting dolls and tending to her flower gardens. She loved music, often singing and dancing. Carol loved a bargain, always looking for treasure at garage sales and antique shops. She loved her Jericho and spoiling all of her grand dogs. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Maryanne Walters of Michigan, Shelly Brooks (Don Estridge) of Texas, Kelly Wasmuth of Michigan, Richard Walters Jr. of Texas, James (Brook) Walters of Michigan, Tearesa Walters (Quincy Muniz) of Texas, and Kimberly (Paul) Scott of Texas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; siblings: Rosie Wise, Roy (Karen) Ferris, Darlene Martin, Linda Gurk, Joanne Duford, and Sharon Phillips.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Lester and Mina; husbands: Richard Walters Sr. and Ronald Wasmuth; siblings: Betty Cassiday and Delores Dunbar, Allen Ferris and Charles Yaxley; brother-in-laws: Frederick Dunbar, Gary Gurk, Jim Martin, and Roger Wise; daughter-in-law: Tangie Walters; and grandparents: Arthur Yaxley, Sarah Tossy, Ezra Myers, and Nellie Furney.

Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and services are being planned for a later date. She will be laid to rest at Butman Township Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
