Carl H. Setlak, age 80, of Standish, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. He was born on October 19, 1945, the son of Carl and Evelyn Setlak, in Omer, MI. Carl was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Following his service, he came back to work at General Motors in Flint as a tool crib attendant for over 30 years until his retirement in 1998. On July 19, 1987, he married Patricia McKenna. Together they shared many years with love and cherished memories.
Carl loved traveling with Patricia, especially when he was able to see Alaska which was his favorite trip. Carl and his wife also took many bus trips throughout the United States. He loved the casino and enjoyed crafting, making and selling many bird houses over the years.
He is survived by his wife: Patricia; daughter: Jacqueline (Steve) DeLeon; grandchildren: Daytona, Catlina, April, Lily, and Quentin; sister: Karen (Dan) Ratagczak; along with several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughters, Veronica Townsend and baby Marjorie.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church, in Standish. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Carl will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, in Gladwin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Compassus Hospice or The Knights of Columbus, in honor of Carl.
