Byron "Barney" Rambo

Byron “ Barney” Phil Rambo, age 87, of Beaverton, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025. He was born on June 10, 1938, the son of JM and Ruth (Patton) Rambo, in Royal Oak, MI. On March 8, 1991, Byron married Patricia Dugan Wasik. Together, they shared many years filled with love and cherished memories.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Following his service, Byron owned and operated his own tree service business for many years. He was a National Drag Racing Champion and an endowment member of the NRA.

He is survived by his beloved wife: Patricia; children: Peggy St. Croix, Roger (Suzanne) Rambo, Debbie Rambo, Robert (Stephanie) Rambo, Ruth (Michael) Keller, and David Rambo; step-daughter: Amanda Wasik Grifka; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; brother: Michael (Jill) Rambo; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Roger Rambo and Jimmy Rambo, along with many extended family members.

Funeral services will take place on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Beaverton with cremation following. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service. Following the service, there will be a luncheon held at Juicy Bone in Beaverton, 1476 Dale Road, Beaverton, MI 48612.
