Bruce Duane Lang, 69, was called home to the Lord on December 9, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on May 6, 1956, in Gladwin, Michigan, to the late Walter and Pauline (Leonard) Lang, Bruce was raised in Beaverton—the hometown he cherished—and spent his entire life rooted in the community he loved.
A graduate of Beaverton High School, Bruce followed in his father’s footsteps and began a dedicated career as a crane operator with the Local 324 Operating Engineers. Alongside his wife, he proudly owned and operated several businesses in Beaverton for over 40 years, serving the community with hard work, integrity, and a friendly smile until their retirement just a few years ago.
Bruce had many passions: classic cars, beekeeping, and hunting were among his favorites. But above all, Bruce loved his family deeply and wholeheartedly. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Kerry (Cohoon) Lang, and their three children, Erica (Joseph) Sprague, Andrew Lang, and Matthew (Renee) Lang, all of Beaverton.
Bruce’s greatest joy in life was being “Papa” to his nine grandchildren: Reed, Riley, Dan, Leo, Sage, Ellie, Maggie, Reggie, and Josie. He is survived by his sister, Linda (James) Kern, and his brother, Douglas Lang, as well as sister in law Gay (Thomas) Watts. Preceding him in death were his beloved parents, Walter and Pauline Lang.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Bruce’s many friends and loved ones for their support during this time, and to Henry Ford Hospital for providing world-class care.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
Those wishing to express sympathy are encouraged to consider a contribution in Bruce’s memory to the Beaverton Activity Center, a place that embodies the “Can-Do” community spirit he treasured.
