Basil Loar

Basil LeRoy Loar, age 91, of Beaverton, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026. He was born on February 25, 1935, the son of John and Grace (Cochrane) Loar, in Arthur Township. Basil worked as a Tool and Die Maker for several years. He also worked as a Farmer for many years. He enjoyed farming, woodworking, hunting, fishing, traping, and cabinet making.

He is survived by his children: Pam (David) Wells, Ruth (Dean) Methner, and Jon Loar; grandchildren: Nick, Justin, Jesse, Jared, Joseph, Jon, and Natalie; along with 7 great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, 12 siblings, and son: Derrick.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Beaverton. He will be laid to rest at Arthur Township Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home.www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
