Arthur “Lee” Leasher, age 94, of Beaverton, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Lee was born on February 19, 1931, in Isabella County. He graduated from Blanchard High in 1949, then was proud to serve in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean Conflict.
On June 29, 1963, he married the love of his life, Katherine Dill at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Together, they shared 61 years of love and cherished memories.
Lee attended Ferris State University and began working for Dow Chemical Company in 1956. He holds three patents and was a Mechanical Engineer and Maintenance Superintendent before retiring in 1986.
His hobbies included golfing, bowling, woodworking, stained glass, gardening, and traveling. He has had three “hole in ones” with the most recent being at age 90 at Gladwin Heights Golf Course, where they were members. For 34 years, Lee and Kathy enjoyed wintering at Holiday Travel Resort, Leesburg, Florida. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Gladwin Eagles 3292, and Beaverton Lions Club.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Kathy; daughter: Barbara (Pat) McIntyre; son: Jeffrey (Rhonda) Leasher; grandchildren: Ryan McIntyre, Katherine (Eric) Newman, Erika Leasher, and Isaac Leasher; brother: Olin (Jeri) Leasher; sisters: Evenlyn Leasher and Bea Windgaston; brother-in-law: Gary Rutherford; sister-in-laws: Gloria Leasher and Connie Leasher; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lee was preceded in death by twin daughters: Mary and Marie Leasher; parents: Olive and George Leasher; in-laws: Esther and Emerson Dill; brothers: Jack Leasher, Bill Leasher, Keith Leasher, and Jim Leasher; sister-in-laws: Barbara Rutherford, Kitty Leasher, Hazel Leasher, and Judith Leasher; and brother-in-law: Ron Windgaston.
Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Gladwin.
